 GoreTex Jacket

Backpack #74 The more you question your own work and principles, the more you grow. Recently I got a jacket with a broken zipper and asked myself: what could I turn it into? After some research and planning the idea was born – it should become a trail running vest.

After the idea comes the work:

  • One of the two front pocket zippers was broken, so I replaced it with the armpit zipper.
  • Originally the jacket came with two main pockets on the outside and two smaller pockets on the inside. To improve the quality of the final product (and to reduce working hours) I incorporated these pockets in the design of the vest.
  • To create a harmonious composition I adopted the angles of the Salewa logo to the body parts and the small compartments on the shoulder straps. The asymmetry made the design more dynamic, which suits the field of application – trail running.

Backpacks

Exploring possibilities. After some firehose wallets I was wondering if the material is also suitable for backpacks. The construction had to be adapted, compared to my other backpacks, and the results turned out amazing!

 First backpacks 2015

Worn-out black jeans, IKEA bags, components from my broken schoolbag, padding from the packaging of a new windsurfing sail and curtain left overs as lining. Taking what I had at home, combined with some creativity.
